Ingredients
for about 12 serpentines
- 200 g Black Venus Flour Mix
- 100 g of water
- 2 g of salt
- ½ sachet of baking powder for pies
- Fresh red chilies
- Fennel seed
- Poppy seeds
- 1 yolk
- 30 ml of milk
- Wooden skewers

Preparation
Here are the steps to prepare the serpentines:
- Place flour in a bowl and add baking powder and salt, stirring gently.
- Add the water and continue to mix.
- Pour everything onto a floured work surface and work vigorously with your hands until you have a smooth ball.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap.
- Divide the chilies in half, removing all seeds; then cut out tongue-shaped strips.
- Set the oven to 200 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with baking paper.
- Knead a small piece of dough weighing about 25 g until it is shaped like a snake.
- Flatten the end to simulate the head and roll the rest around the skewer.
- Insert fennel seeds and chili tongue into the head. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
- Beat the egg yolk with milk and brush on the appetizers.
- Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
- Bake for about 10 minutes.
Allow to cool and serve.
