FrUQual 2.0 project., funded by the Umbria RDP, Measure 16.2.2, of which CGS is lead partner, in collaboration with the Foundation for Agricultural Education of the University of Perugia and Molini Spigadoro.
The FrUQual 2.0 project is aimed at establishing new soft wheat varieties with special quality characteristics intended for innovative processing. These innovations have been identified to respond to specific consumer demands, such as special bakery products (pastry, high leavening, etc.), health products (containing low-tenacity and easy-to-digest gluten, low glycemic index flours, etc.), whole grains and derivatives (with well-known nutritional/dietetic properties), the products intended for specific consumer groups (baby food, etc.), sprout production, and numerous other “special” and innovative products.
