The hemp flour

Hemp Seed Flour is the finely ground pulp derived from mechanically hulled and cold-pressed hemp seeds. The seeds are NOT solvent-extracted.

Hemp sativa seeds naturally contain Omega-6 and Omega-3 in a 3:1 ratio, which is the closest to the ideal ratio for humans in nature: the WHO (World Health Organization) recommends the intake of Omega-6 and Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in a ratio of 4:1 to 6:1. These characteristics make hemp sativa seeds a “nutritional vaccine” that, when introduced into our daily diet, strengthens and regulates the response of the immune system, hormonal system, and nervous system to environmental aggressions.

The flour contains 30% protein, fiber, and minerals. Hemp protein possesses all nine essential amino acids and also shows a high content of the amino acids methionine and cysteine (containing Sulfur) usually poorly present in plant proteins. About 65% of the total protein content of Hemp Seeds is made up of an easily digestible storage protein, edestin.

It is excellent when added to other types of flour and can replace 5% to 10% of cereal flour.

It can be used in bread, pizza and pastry dough, in frying and flouring, transferring a slightly nutty flavor and a brownish color to the dough. Excellent when used for the preparation of homemade pasta, pasta with or without eggs and gnocchi.
